In response to the needs of today’s IT professional to enhance their skills and knowledge, the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT) is offering a Masters of Advanced IT (MAIT) Programme. Our objective is to equip students with advanced knowledge in the field of Information Technology; and to produce more graduates IT caliber in the global arena. The programme will be offered at our main Campus in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak. Students are required to complete 43 credit units of courses and pass with a minimum grade of B- along with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 3.00. With a Master in Advanced Information Technology, the students will not only get to widen their perspective in the field, but also achieve the perfect blend of theoretical knowledge and experiential learning.

The minimum entry requirements for the programme are as follows:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or equivalent, as accepted by the Senate;
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent but CGPA less than 2.50 may be admitted subject to a minimum of five years working experience in the relevant field or;
  • Other equivalent qualifications as approved by Senate
  • For international students, a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or its equivalent (e.g TOEFL-525; TOEFL Computer Test-196; TOEFL Internet Test 69-70) is required
    • Course Fee is RM17,272
    • Registration Fee is RM1,000

The fee is to paid in four (4) installments. Students supported by the government, employers or other sponsors should bring letters from their sponsors addressed to UNIMAS confirming that the fee will be paid directly.

The Master of Advanced Information Technology programme is a master programme by coursework (fulltime) over a minimum duration of 18 months, which is equivalent to 3 semesters of study. For part time mode, the maximum period of study is 48 months (4 years).
WHO SHOULD APPLY?

MAIT Programme is open to candidates from the IT industry who wants to tailor their post-graduate studies according to their needs or that of their employers. MAIT courses provide the candidates with a wide and in-depth knowledge of the areas of information technology and its state-of-the-art application. This program is also suitable for fresh graduates and educators.
